BBC Worldwide (New York, New York, 212-705-9300): Julius Cain has been promoted to VP of co-productions and sales where he will be responsible for the licensing and syndication of BBC TV programs to public broadcasters State-side. Cain will also handle distribution to other U.S. markets. He was most recently director of BBC sales.
The Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (London, England, 44-171-580-7431): Leaving a non-event related licensing position at ISL Licensing, Roland H. Schmidt joins the CPLG team as head of the company’s sports division, and Chris Protheroe has been upped to head of football. As such, Protheroe will be responsible for developing a licensing campaign for the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Davidson Marketing (Chicago, Illinois, 312-527-3900): Chris Rago has been promoted from senior entertainment marketing specialist to director of entertainment marketing.
Forefront Entertainment (Vancouver, Canada, 604-682-7910): Marilyn Kynaston has been upped from sales exec to director of international sales, and Erin Haskett moves up from coordinator of sales and acquisitions to sales exec.
Fox Interactive (Los Angeles, California, 310-369-3900): Karly Young has come on-board as director of brand marketing. Prior to the move, Young was a marketing executive for PC game developer NovaLogic.
Fox Family Channel (Los Angeles, California, 310-235-5100): Tom Cosgrove has been upped to senior VP of planning, scheduling and program operations at Fox Family Channels and Fox Kids Network. Cosgrove was most recently VP of planning, scheduling and station relations. Thomas Halleen has also been promoted from director of programming to VP of prime-time acquisitions and scheduling for Fox Family Channels. Jill Goldfarb has been upped to VP of planning and scheduling for Fox Family Channels from a post in that department.
Hasbro Properties Group (Los Angeles, California, 310-274-3601): Carol Monroe has been promoted to VP, Visual Media Group and is charged with opening HPG’s new L.A. office this month. The new location will coordinate creative development, production and licensing efforts for Hasbro’s growing entertainment biz. Monroe has been with HPG for six months, serving as a producer for the fantasy factory team. Prior to coming aboard, she was senior VP of programming and development at Fox Kids Network.
itsy bitsy Entertainment Company (New York, New York, 212-989-3660): Coming off a brief stint as Mattel’s senior product manager responsible for the Barbie accessory business, Bradley M. Fazzari joins as senior licensing manager of itsy bitsy’s off-screen entertainment. With the move, Fazzari will trade in pink camper vans for Tubby toast as he takes on the duty of supervising the development and production of toys, videos, books and apparel based on TV-based properties like Teletubbies, Noddy and Eloise.
Just Group (Bakewell, Derbyshire, England, 44-1629-814-994): Nick Underwood has joined Just’s Derbyshire office as international marketing manager. Underwood previously spent three years plugging the Teletubbies as international marketing manager for Ragdoll Productions.
Mattel (El Segundo, California, 310-252-2000): Mining its competition, Mattel has found a new president for its interactive toys and software division. Ex-Sega COO Bernard Stolar will be charged with leading Mattel Interactive out of an end-of-year slump largely attributed to the US$105-million Q3 ’99 loss incurred by The Learning Company, which Mattel acquired in May ’99. Stolar orchestrated the launch of Sega’s Dreamcast system, which reached first-day sales of US$97 million last September.
MTV Networks (New York, New York, 212-258-8000): Operating out of the New York office, Lisa Hackett has been named VP of international programming operations for MTV Networks, London. Hackett previously filled the VP of rights and clearances post in MTV Networks’ Law and Business Affairs department.
Nickelodeon Magazine (New York, New York, 212-258-7500): Jeff Dunetz has been named associate publisher of Nick’s mags, which include Nickelodeon Magazine, Rugrats Comic Adventures and GAS Magazine.
PBS (Alexandria, Virginia, 703-739-5000): Jinny Goldstein has joined as senior VP of education from The Business Channel, where she served as president and CEO.
Universal Pictures (London, England, 44-171-307-7513): Loredana Cunti will manage the acquisition and production of kids programs as senior VP of Universal Pictures Visual Programming.
