Bryncoed Productions, the recently launched scripted children’s drama prodco, has brought on Emma Yap as a development producer. Yap is the prodco’s first senior hire since opening its doors.
She most recently served as the global acquisitions executive at NBCUniversal. Previously she worked in international sales at Bankside Films, and she is also the co-founder of Female Film Leaders, an initiative that works to address gender imbalance within the entertainment industry.
UK-based Bryncoed was founded by Foz Allan, a producer on ITV’s miniseries Jekyll and Hyde and Sky Atlantic’s Riviera. Allan was also a producer on several children’s drama series, including CBBC/ZDF’s Wolfblood, BBC’s The Dumping Ground, CBBC’s Hetty Feather and BBC’s Harriet Army.
The prodco is currently working on the 26 x 25-minute Nyela’s Dream, following a young model who decides she wants to become a designer. The series is written by Holly Phillips (Millie Inbetween, So Awkward, Hank Zipzer) and directed by Isabelle Sieb, with Paul McKenzie serving as producer.
