Paris-based Cyber Group Studios has appointed Jakks Pacific as global master toy licensee for its upcoming animated preschool series Gigantosaurus.

Terms of the deal will see the California-based toymaker design, produce and launch a full range of Gigantosaurus toys including preschool playthings, figures, vehicles, playsets, outdoor seasonal, indoor furniture and Halloween costumes and accessories.

The first products will begin rolling out at global retailers in fall 2019.

Gigantosaurus is based on a book of the same name by Jonny Duddle and published by UK-based Templar Publishing, which expects to roll out new Gigantosaurus books next fall. Cyber Group’s 52 x 11-minute comedy follows the adventures of four young dinosaur friends who are determined to unravel the mystery of the biggest and fiercest creature of all.

Disney Junior, which snapped up the series for worldwide broadcast (excluding India and Taiwan) last May, will bow the toon early next year, followed by premieres on France Télévisions and Germany’s Super RTL.

Gigantosaurus is also set to enter the digital gaming space, following the launch of Cyber Group’s new interactive division helmed by former Disney Interactive VP and MD for EMEA, Thierry Braille.

Cyber Group’s master toy deal comes on the heels of the company’s US division setting up shop in Culver City Studios under the leadership of former Henson exec Richard Goldsmith as president and CEO.

In other Jakks Pacific news, the toyco has extended its global master toy partnership with Nintendo and will continue to launch action figures, playsets, plush, vehicles, role play, dress up, novelties, blasters and outdoor seasonal items based on hit World of Nintendo properties including Super Mario, Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Starfox and Metroid. Products will include a line of Super Mario squishy toys and wind-up figures, a Mario Kart remote control motorcycle and a Luigi remote control mini-racer.
