Hued marg makes mealtime more fun for kids
According to a recent survey of over 1,000 parents conducted by Parkay parentco ConAgra Dairy foods of Downer’s Grove, Nebraska, seven out of 10 agreed that fun foods and condiments would help bring their kids to the table at mealtime.
So following a colorful food trend that has seen the entry of green ketchup and blue mac and cheese, Parkay has come up with a line of hot pink- and electric blue-colored margarine. The butter-flavored spread also now comes in brightly colored kid-size squeezable bottles (10 ounces). The butter-alternative Parkay Fun Squeeze was introduced to consumers in the middle of October and hits shelves across the U.S. (SRP US$1.39) this month.
The national ‘Give Your Kids a Squeeze’ essay and photo contest also started this month, running until February 11, 2002. Parents can submit a 100-word essay describing how they squeeze more fun into mealtime, as well as a snapshot capturing the moment. One grand-prize winner will receive a Parkay Family Fun Package (valued at US$5,000) that includes a party (pink- or blue-themed) for 25 friends, as well as a US$500 Toys ‘R’ Us gift certificate and a year’s supply of Parkay Fun Squeeze.
