UK-based preschool SVOD service Hopster will debut a new holiday original based on its Two Minute Tales entitled The Little Toymaker. The six-minute holiday special will launch on the platform on December 26.

Two Minutes Tales, based on Grimm’s classic fairy tales, is the second most-watched show on Hopster. Using a similar formula, The Little Toymaker is inspired by the stories of Pinocchio, the Pied Piper and the Red Shoes.  The tale follows a greedy little prince who wants everything for himself. The animation retains the trademark style of Two Minute Tales, mixing a 3D look with medieval artwork.

Hopster has also acquired a range of content including PNP’s Magic Moments Advent Calendar, The Gruffalo (available in the UK on December 25), Mog’s Christmas (launching in the UK on December 24) and The Gruffalo’s Child, which will bow on January 1.

As in previous years, Hopster will feature a Christmas Playlist with festive episodes of popular shows like Cloudbabies, Reading Rainbow Storytime, Louie and Max and Ruby.

The announcement follows a busy year for Hopster, which released a STEM-themed hub with curated playlists and games, as well as new series Clever Brenda and learning game Sheep Count. The platform also launched a digital playroom for kids with autism to develop sensory-processing skills.
