Bulldog has been named the UK licensing agent for the upcoming revamped version of Channel 4’s popular 1990’s gameshow The Crystal Maze.
The agency will rep the property on behalf of the new show’s producers, RDF-owned Fizz TV and IP owner Banijay. The licensing campaign will kick off with stationery, gifts, apparel and publishing products aimed at tweens, teens and young adults, as well as fans of the original show.
The Crystal Maze will see teams of five adventurers tackle physical, skill, mystery and mental challenges across four fantastical zones—Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic—in a bid to win prizes in the iconic Crystal Dome. Filmed at Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol, the 20-episode series is hosted by popular comedian, actor, writer and director Richard Ayoade.
The first season, which is set to air this spring and fall, will also include five celebrity specials for Stand Up to Cancer.
After its run in the 1990s, the IP lived on as a live experience in London and Manchester that was operated by Little Lion Entertainment.
