  • The Pinkfong Company is making waves with Baby Shark (pictured) on August 30, partnering with New York City Ferry to run a special one-day service across New York’s East River featuring dance-alongs, Baby Shark music, character photo opps and giveaways. In Q1, this ferry transported an average of more than 5,000 daily passengers on weekdays and  3,500 on weekends. Baby Shark turned 10 this year, and this partnership is part of Pinkfong’s broader plan to expand the IP’s global presence. To that end, it premiered a new live-action YouTube series last month called Baby Shark Boulevard, in which the pivotal character checks out historic landmarks around the world, including New York.
  • Armenian YouTube management agency Yolu has inked a deal with animation studio Tale Wind to take on two channels for its flagship Turbozaurs series. Yolu will manage the brand’s top-performing English-language (47,000 subs) and Spanish-language (65,000 subs) channels, but there are 12 more currently available on the platform, so maybe some room for a deal expansion down the road. Turbozaurs (78 x seven minutes), a preschool series about dinosaurs that can turn into machines, airs in more than 30 countries worldwide, including the US (Kartoon Channel!), Italy (Nick Jr.) and China (Tencent).
