- The LEGO Group has expanded its partnership with Aardman Animations by launching a new stop-motion animation tool within the LEGO Play app. Aardman is promoting the tool by launching five monthly stop-motion challenges, in which young builders can showcase their animation skills using LEGO bricks and minifigures. These challenges will involve a new alien character called Boop (pictured), who was transported to a LEGO world and is trying to find his way home.

- The French studio Ankama Animations has acquired a majority stake (51%) in the Valence, France-based animation studio Andarta Pictures. Through the new sale, Andarta will exit its court-appointed receivership and continue its operations. Now with Ankama’s support and resources, Andarta’s first job is to complete production of the 2D-animated adaptation of Pierre Bottero’s children’s fantasy novel, Ewilan’s Quest (pictured above).
