- BBC Studios has partnered with Boston-based shoe manufacturer Converse to develop a new Bluey-themed collection for kids and families. The new collection will roll out at select retailers worldwide on August 7, and includes five different SKUs of shoes, two graphic tees, a hat and a graphic hoodie featuring the iconic blue heeler pup and her family.
- StudioCanal has joined forces with Crayola to bring its tentpole Paddington franchise to the arts and crafts maker’s Create and Play+ mobile app for a month-long crossover. The event will run until the end of August and allows young players to decorate and customize their own trains, complete art challenges to climb up a castle and try out several Paddington-themed minigames.
- Merci has inked a new deal with Philadelphia-based publisher Running Press to create a new range of Miffy books for preschoolers. The new titles will begin to roll out to specialty retailers on August 26, starting with the two educational board books Miffy’s ABCs and Miffy’s Colors. The collection will expand with more items in October, including collectible postcards, magnet sets and the upcoming title Miffy Baby Book: My First Three Years.
- Hidden Pigeon Company has tapped Little Dot Studios to manage its YouTube channels and develop new digital strategies for its tentpole characters, The Pigeon and Elephant & Piggie. The partnership has already kicked off, with Little Dot adding the Mo Willems Workshop channel to the Back to School Global Takeover event on YouTube Kids, which will feature the channel on the platform’s home page with nine curated videos.
- Canela TV has picked up the rights to stream Tale Wind Studio’s CG-animated preschool series Turbozaurs (78 x seven minutes) across the US, Mexico and Colombia. The toon airs in more than 30 countries worldwide, including the US (Kartoon Channel), Italy (Nick Jr and Warner Bros. Discovery), China (Tencent and Youku) and Brazil (TV Cultura).
