- New York-based Kidz Toyz has expanded its agreement with Peanuts Worldwide to manufacture and distribute a range of Peanuts-branded musical instruments to celebrate the IP’s 75th anniversary. The new items—including a 16-inch ukulele, Snoopy’s harmonica and Schroeder’s iconic miniature red piano (pictured)—will roll out to US specialty retailers throughout the fall.
- Spirit Animation has teamed up with Web3 game publisher Saga Origins to reimagine the titular character from its 2014 Disney XD LatAm series Karl as an interactive AI agent. Hosted on Saga’s Kex platform, Karl fans can interact directly with the CG-animated character to ask questions or suggest topics to discuss. Karl is the first licensed character on the platform, and his new AI agent will evolve over time as he chats with more users.
- China’s Mili Pictures has tapped High School Musical producer Bill Borden to distribute its CG-animated feature film Wukong Warrior to global TV broadcasters and streaming platforms. Borden will work alongside LA-based Summit International Pictures on multiple international editions and dubs of the Chinese mythology-inspired film. Buyers can get a first look at the film in October at MIPCOM.
