POLL: What’s next after the US public broadcasting cuts?

With more than US$1 billion in public media funding on the chopping block, we want to hear what you think about what it means for kids programming.
July 17, 2025

Today, the US Senate approved a package that would nix US$1.1 billion in federal support for public broadcasters, including PBS.

That’s the entire amount that had been allocated to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting over the next two years. The measure to strip this funding has now reached the House for final approval. (And the House has already signalled it will support the measure.)

US President Donald Trump has to sign the bill into law by midnight on Friday for the cuts to take effect. So as the legislation is just a small step away from becoming reality, Kidscreen wants to hear your thoughts on its impact on PBS KIDS, and on the kids media industry as a whole.
