Paramount Pictures’ Clueless might be turning the big 3-0 next week, but you’re totally buggin’ if you think the IP is slowing down in the consumer products lane anytime soon.

This iconic coming-of-age movie from the ’90s that sees a witty and wealthy Beverly Hills teenager helping a new student become popular is marking its anniversary on July 19—exactly three decades to the date since it opened in theaters—with several big collabs on deck.

MGA Entertainment is launching its Clueless-themed Bratz dolls in the US and select international markets this summer.

Mattel has partnered with Paramount for a wide range of collectibles, including the summer rollout of a Clueless-themed Polly Pocket playset and Fisher-Price Little People collectibles line. These lead products will be followed in September by two new plaid-suited Barbie dolls (pictured), based on BFFs Cher Horowitz and Dionne Davenport.

Also in the fashion doll aisle, MGA Entertainment pulled the curtain back yesterday on a Bratz x Clueless range that will roll out over the coming weeks in the US and select international markets. Featuring Bratizified versions of Cher, Dionne and Amber, this collection is the latest nostalgic movie tie-in for the toy brand—which released a Bratz x Mean Girls edition last fall.

If you’re looking to live like Cher, the L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills has partnered with Paramount to build a new Clueless-themed suite, offering Cher-inspired closet pieces and decor for guests to enjoy. Themed rooms have been seeing strong success with families lately, with big players like Airbnb getting into this fast-growing branded stay category by partnering with kids brands and IP owners including Pixar, X-Men and the Smurfs.

Though things had been quiet on the Clueless content front for a long time, news broke in April that a sequel series is in development at Peacock, with lead actor Alicia Silverstone attached to reprise her role as Cher. No other details about the project have been revealed, but it’s part of a growing trend of reviving classic female-centric teen and YA franchises on the small screen—with Legally Blonde and Buffy the Vampire Slayer also prepping new TV adaptations at Prime Video and Hulu, respectively.

Featuring a premise intertwined with iconic slang, ’90s teen culture and preppy fashion, Clueless has evolved into a cult classic franchise over the years and remains ripe for youth consumer touchpoints like costumes, comic books and beauty products.

Shortly after its release, the film was adapted as a teen TV series that aired for three seasons (1996 to 1998) on ABC and UPN. During that time, the IP also expanded into the publishing space, with a collection of books published by Simon Spotlight Entertainment for teen readers. And more recently, the film has also made its way onto the stage, with Clueless, The Musical premiering in 2018.
