Nike marketing exec Ron Faris moves to Disney Consumer Products to oversee marketing, while Shout! Studios is expanding its anime business with a new hire.

  • Disney Consumer Products has brought in Nike marketing exec Ron Faris (pictured) as its new VP of global marketing. Faris will manage marketing strategies for Disney’s licensing, games, publishing and retail businesses worldwide. Before joining Disney, Faris was VP/GM of Nike Virtual Studios for three years, heading up a marketing division that focused on strategies to reach a Gen Z audience. 

 

  • Distributor Shout! Studios has recruited former Crunchyroll merchandising director Thomas Breckenridge as its first director of product development and marketing for anime content. His responsibilities include acquiring, developing and marketing licensed anime titles for the home video market. Breckenridge joined anime streamer Crunchyroll in 2022 when it acquired distributor Right Stuf, where he was in place as a merchandising manager. Shout! Studios has previously distributed anime film series Digimon Adventure and several Studio Ghibli films in partnership with GKIDS.
