Dr. Seuss Enterprises has renewed a partnership with Little Dot Studios to transform its YouTube channel into a hub for new Dr. Seuss content.

The company enlisted Little Dot to recharge its five-year-old Dr. Seuss YouTube channel last September. At the time, the channel hadn’t refreshed its video library in several months and had just 89,000 subscribers. Today, it has more than 480,000, and Little Dot is adding new videos weekly.

Under the renewed deal, Little Dot will keep managing the channel for kids ages three to seven, as well as overseeing its advertising business. The digital agency will also co-develop new content with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, says the brand owner’s entertainment manager Joie Yale.

Next up, Little Dot is working on a new series called Learn to Draw Dr. Seuss Babies, Yale tells Kidscreen. This live-action concept, which will teach kids how to draw young versions of Seuss characters, is set to roll out sometime later this year.

Learn to Draw is the third new series Dr. Seuss and Little Dot have collaborated on, following on the heels of Crafty Fun with the Cat in the Hat and Seuss Circle Time (pictured), which both premiered this year. The first episode of Seuss Circle Time dropped just last week in fact, and new 30-minute episodes are scheduled to roll out over the next eight weeks. This series features live-action hosts using music, dance and play to teach kids basic concepts like how to rhyme.

Starting in September, Little Dot will also begin releasing a one-hour episode of Seuss Circle Time every month, says Yale.

In its bid to refresh its YouTube channel, Dr. Seuss Enterprises focused on three content categories: reading, wonder and curiosity, says Yale. The team also went far beyond its traditional of posting short videos to release full-length episodes, clips, compilations and seasonal specials.

The strong subscriber growth and positive response from kids and parents that this effort received has motivated Dr. Seuss Enterprises to build on its investment and focus on growing the channel further. “Parents have shared that they value shared viewing experience, while kids are drawn in by the bright visuals, fun animation styles and familiar characters,” says Yale. “The revamped channel has become a place where Dr. Seuss fans old and new can consistently find engaging and high-quality content.”
