Spin Master has announced a new leadership transition that will see veteran consumer products executive Christina Miller take the reins from Max Rangel as CEO, effective July 7.

Miller has served as a board member for the Toronto-based toy and entertainment company since 2020, and she has more than 25 years of experience in kids content development, franchise management and consumer products strategy. Most notably, she was previously president of WarnerMedia’s kids, YA and classic division from 2014 to 2019, overseeing kids channel operations and content production for Cartoon Network and Boomerang among other brands.

Over the next three months, Miller will work closely with Rangel to execute a succession plan and ensure the company is well-positioned before he steps down. Miller will first focus on leveraging the toyco’s core PAW Patrol, Rubik’s Cube and Toca Boca brands as she looks to unlock new business opportunities across toys, digital games and entertainment platforms.

Rangel has led Spin Master as global president and CEO since 2021. Under his leadership, the toyco generated a record-breaking US$2.26 billion in revenue last year, and he has executed three strategic acquisitions during his tenure, picking up wooden toymaker Melissa & Doug (worth US$950 million), Hexbug and Rubik’s Cube.
