Chuck E. Cheese (CEC) is getting festive with its first-ever animated special starting production at LA’s HappyNest Entertainment.
With Phineas and Ferb‘s Zac Moncrief and Jon Colton Barry teaming up again as co-writers and executive producers, The Chuck E. Cheese Christmas Special (pictured) should be ready to roll out in the lead-up to this year’s holiday season.
There’s no word yet on whether any broadcasters are on board yet to air this 2D-animated one-off. But actor Nathan Kress (iCarly) is voicing the titular character, and Brisbane’s Pixel Zoo will handle the animation work.
The Chuck E. Cheese Christmas Special represents a “milestone moment” for the CEC brand, according to VP of global media, licensing & entertainment Melissa McLeanas. “We’re entering the entertainment arena in a way that builds on our nostalgic legacy, while charting a new future for our characters as a storytelling franchise.”
To that end, CEC signed a partnership with Future Today just last month to launch its first FAST channels and move the IP’s original content onto the HappyKids platform. And in 2024, the company rolled out a limited-time menu collaboration with Sunlight Entertainment and pocket.watch for the film Ryan’s World The Movie: Titan Universe Adventure.
