Deals in Brief – June 12, 2025

Edmond and Lucy is getting a second season and multiple specials, and Xentrix Studios Australia is developing an animated series with an Australian magician.

  • France Télévisions has renewed MIAM! Animation’s CG-animated series Edmond and Lucy (pictured) for a second season. The order is for 44 x 11 minutes plus four 22-minute seasonal specials. The second season and the first special will air on France TV in December 2026. MIAM! Distribution handles international sales for this series about a pair of siblings (a squirrel and a bear cub) who find fun things to do in their forest home.

 

  • Xentrix Studios Australia (Snick and Willow) has conjured up a deal with Australian magician Cosentino to develop an animated series for kids. Titled Magicland, the comedy/adventure show focuses on a magician who battles evil in a fantasy world. 

 

  • Toronto-based Headspinner Productions has signed broadcast deals for several of its series. Binge TV (US), Future Today/HappyKids (US), ClickView (Australia) have acquired 2D-animated Happy House of Frightenstein, while Family Jr. in Canada has renewed its rights for the show’s first two seasons. CBC Kids/CBC Gem (Canada), Binge, ClickView, Future Today and McIntyre Media (Canada) have licensed the second season of the animated series Gisele’s Mashup Adventures. And Binge, Yippee TV, Future Today, ClickView, McIntyre Media and DSMP (US) picked up the live-action series Aunty B’s House
