- Former 9 Story Media Group executive chairman Neil Court (pictured) has joined Coolabi Group as chairman, looking to provide advice on how the company can grow. Court co-founded Decode Entertainment (later DHX Media) back in 1997, and is currently chairman of Peacock Alley Entertainment. Coolabi’s portfolio includes animated series Clangers and its flagship property Warrior Cats, which Tencent is developing into TV and film, while Retail Monster is working on a licensing program for the IP. Coolabi’s latest projects include an animated series based on the Beast Quest books with Superprod Group, and The Secret Explorers in partnership with Pixel Zoo and Liquid Rock Entertainment.
- Digitoonz Media & Entertainment has hired Vrinda Sood as VP to drive its business growth. Sood will retain her role as CEO of full-service animation shingle Citrus Ink Studios as she also works to expand Digitoonz’s client base and secure partnerships. In her role with Citrus Ink, she’s worked on brand campaigns with Coca-Cola and Arctic Fox. Digitoonz and Citrus Ink teamed up in December 2024 to launch a VFX, animation and gaming joint-venture called DGX.
