BBC Studios Children’s & Education and France Télévisions have greenlit the 2D-animated series Vanishing Point, from France’s Watch Next Media and Ireland’s Kavaleer Productions.
This 26 x 22-minute French/Irish co-pro is aimed at kids ages eight-and-up. Writing/directing duo Tom Gran and Martin Woolley (Chris P. Duck) created this action/comedy about four teens whose town is overrun by everyday objects with bizarre powers—ranging from a fridge magnet that can control metal, to a bowtie that makes its wearer reveal their secrets.
BBC Children’s & Education commissioned the series for CBBC. BBC Studios Kids & Family is a lead producer and the global distributor of the show, which has received financing from Screen Ireland and CNC in France.
This marks the second co-pro for Watch Next and Kavaleer—they previously partnered on the CBBC 2D-animated series Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese, which premiered in 2019 and has since been picked up by Netflix (UK, France and Canada), Disney Channel (Benelux, CEE) and KidsMe (Italy).
