- Xilam Group is teaming up with French broadcaster TF1 to develop Turbo Twins (pictured), a new CG-animated comedy for six- to 10-year-olds. This 26 x 22-minute series revolves around a set of twins attending a summer camp that’s all about car racing. Based on a concept that was pitched at Cartoon Forum in 2022, Turbo Twins will air in TF1’s TFOU morning kids block after it delivers in 2027/2028, and Xilam is handling worldwide sales.
- Sinking Ship Entertainment has acquired international distribution rights to 2D-animated series Superbuns (39 x seven minutes) from Yowza Animation! and Tricycle Films. Aimed at four- to seven-year-olds, this comedy-driven toon is about a bunny who helps others with the power of kindness. It was commissioned by Peacock in the US two years ago, and is based on a same-name picture book series published by Simon & Schuster.
- Cantilever Media (The Amazing Maurice) and DNEG-owned ReDefine Originals have signed a first-look co-production deal to jointly develop and finance animated feature films for the kids & family audience. Both companies will contribute projects to the venture, with the goal of producing two to three a year. ReDefine plans to shoulder most of the animation work, with Cantilever producing (along with DNEG’s financing/production arm Prime Focus Studios) and its distribution company Kazoo Films managing UK rights to any titles that come out of this collab. The companies are already working together on a feature called Bollywoof for Sky Cinema that will be released in Q3 2027.
- Scholastic has secured a license to publish books based on the upcoming Paris Hilton-inspired animated series Paris & Pups from 9 Story Media Group, 11:11 Media and HappyNest Entertainment. This all-formats deal includes storybooks, handbooks, activity books and novelty books, and a first title is anticipated to hit shelves in August 2026. Launching later this year on YouTube, Paris & Pups is aimed at five- to eight-year-olds, focusing on five puppies who live in a hotel penthouse with 12-year-old Paris Star. 9 Story Distribution is selling the series worldwide, with licensing split between Retail Monster (US) and 9 Story Brands (rest of world).
