Mediawan Kids & Family has signed a deal with Montreal, Canada-based Claynosaurz to turn its namesake brand of animated NFTs and short videos into a CG-animated series for kids ages six to 12.
Showrunner Jesse Cleverly, co-founder and creative director of Mediawan-owned Wildseed Studios, will work closely with Method Animation (also a Mediawan company) on this 39 x seven-minute project about four dinosaur friends who hang out and explore their mysterious island home.
Former Framestore artists Nicholas Cabana, Dan Cabral and Daniel Jervis teamed up in 2021 to create the Claynosaurz brand, which now encompasses 10,000 animated NFTs and short animated videos. It has racked up more than 530,000 subscribers and 450 million views across all platforms.
For Mediawan Kids & Family, teaming up with Claynosaurz is part of an expansion into developing animated series based on digital-first successes. “This is a major step in [our] development and diversification, paving the way for a new lineup of premium content that is increasingly aligned with the needs of our partners,” says Mediawan Kids & Family president Julien Borde.
