For the third month in a row, YouTube came out on top as the platform where US audiences watched the most television, according to Nielsen’s new April 2025 Media Distributor Gauge report.

Google’s mighty AVOD service beat out every other major media operator with a 12.4% share of all TV watch time in the region, which was up slightly from 12% in March. This is the largest share that YouTube has captured to date, according to Nielsen.

Disney came in second for the month with 10.7%, driven by sports events like the NFL Draft and streaming hit Grey’s Anatomy, which alone racked up 3.9 billion minutes of watch time in April. Rounding the top five, Paramount (8.9%), NBCUniversal (8.2%) and Netflix (7.5%) all maintained their spots.

The Gauge is Nielsen’s monthly snapshot of total broadcast, cable and streaming viewing on television screens. Its April data covers the period between March 31, 2025 and April 28, 2025.
