Mexican wrestling brand owner Fillip acquires Tycoon Enterprises

The 30-year-old regional licensing agency that reps major kids brands including Disney and Hasbro will now also apply its experience to Fillip's growing sports business.

Mexican licensing agency Tycoon Enterprises has been acquired by Fillip, a holding company that’s looking to build a business around two Latin American wrestling leagues it recently invested in (Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide earlier this year (pictured) and Kings League in 2024).

Fillip also launched a joint-venture with Box to Box Films (Formula 1: Drive to Survive) this month to develop and produce sports-focused documentaries, docuseries and scripted projects in the LatAm market.

Acquiring Tycoon gives this budding enterprise instant access to a licensing division, which it expects to provide market analysis and insights on brand positioning and monetization opportunities.

Tycoon has been operating in Mexico for more than 30 years, working primarily with kids entertainment brands looking to expand their presence in the LatAm region. Disney, Marvel, Hasbro and Rovio are all current clients, and the agency’s capabilities include brand management, location-based experiences, retail activations and product development. Tycoon will continue working with third-party clients.

For Tycoon, the acquisition means greater financial support for innovation, says Dalia Benbassat, VP of corporate relations.
