Deals in Brief – May 14, 2025

Amazon Kids+ to stream Dino Ranch: Island Explorers in a mult-territory launch in 2026, and MGA writes a licensing deal with Wigston Global for Rainbow High stationery.

  • Amazon Kids+ will stream Boat Rocker’s CG-animated series Dino Ranch: Island Explorers (pictured) in the US, UK, Canada, Japan and Germany sometime in 2026. CBC/Radio-Canada and Warner Bros. Discovery (Cartoonito in EMEA) are already on board to broadcast this spinoff next year. The original Dino Ranch series airs globally in more than 170 countries and 15 languages. 

 

  • MGA Entertainment has granted UK-based manufacturer Wigston Global the rights to make ranges of stationery based on its Rainbow High (dolls) and Miniverse (micro-collectibles) brands that will launch in spring/summer 2026. Wigston hired former Hunter Price International sales director Benjamin Cornwell as its new sales director in January. In March, he closed a UK distribution deal with Crayola for the art brand’s magnetic tiles. 

 

  • Studio 100 Film has sold Heidi – Rescue of the Lynx (80 minutes) to Apollo Films (France), ACME Film (Baltics), Adler Entertainment (Italy), Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment (UK) and ADS Service (Hungary, Moldova and Romania), and it’s hoping to close more deals in major markets including the US and LatAm at the Cannes Film Market this week. This CG-animated film is set for a German theatrical release on June 26, 2025. It tags along with eight-year-old Heidi as she sets out to reunite an injured lynx cub with its family. Studio 100 International co-produced the film with 3Doubles Producciones and Hotel Hungaria Animation, in association with Studio Isar Animation. 

 

  • Kids streaming service Sensical and Billboard magazine have teamed up to launch several free ad-supported streaming channels focused exclusively on family-friendly music. The companies will also collaborate to build out the Billboard Family website with age-appropriate music lists and educational materials. The goal is to create a hub where kids & families can listen to music together, according to the companies.
