Japan’s Tsuburaya Productions has unveiled its 35th installment in the live-action Ultraman franchise, which will premiere in July with 10 language dubs to ensure it connects with an international audience out of the gate.
Ultraman Omega (25 x 22 minutes) follows the adventures of a new hero named Omega, who crash-lands on Earth after losing his memories in space. Attempting to blend in, Omega takes the form of a human and becomes fascinated with learning everything he can about Earthlings with several newfound friends. But his sudden appearance also awakens a dormant army of kaiju monsters, forcing Omega to transform back to his Ultraman state to defend the world from their wanton destruction.
The series’ first episode will debut on six TV Tokyo channels, Korean streamer Anibox and Tsuburaya’s official YouTube channel on July 5. And it will be dubbed into these 10 languages to connect with audiences on the global AVOD platform: English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Korean, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Malay and Hindi.
Tsuburaya has planned and executed similar launches for previous Ultra series, including last year’s Ultraman Arc and 2023’s Ultraman Blazar. The company is also riding the momentum of the franchise’s first CG-animated family feature for Netflix, Ultraman: Rising, which racked up 7.9 million views during its debut week in June 2024 to become the streamer’s second most-watched global film.
