Three European animation veterans have teamed up to launch a new Munich-based consultancy that will serve clients working in the animation, VFX and video games sectors.
Run by Reka Kaloczy, Mona Mechler and Lea György, MotionKraft will primarily support producers during the development and pre-production phases of a project. The idea is to identify opportunities for optimizing resources and workflows early on so that production is more efficient. Services on offer include setting up approvals processes, analyzing scripts for complicated scenes that have the potential to increase a project’s budget or put it behind schedule, and pointing clients towards co-production and outsourcing partners.
The three principals have more than 30 years of combined industry experience. Kaloczy is a former Toon2Tango line producer who’s also worked as a producer at several other German studios and counts Riot Games Ubisoft and Studio 100 among her current clients. Mechler has production design experience gleaned from gigs at multiple studios in Germany and Hungary, where she worked on Horrid Henry and Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. And György was previously the managing director of Solve Art, a production company that has made animated series including Letters from Felix.
