- Rakuten TV has picked up a package of Mattel content to launch on its AVOD and FAST channels across Europe. The platform licensed series and films from the Barbie, Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends and Monster High brands that it will launch in key European markets including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Nordics.
- In other Mattel news, the toy giant is expanding its partnership with manufacturer and supplier Sunny Days Entertainment, which will make new licensed bath toys in 2025 and sports products in 2026. The companies have previously collaborated on a Hot Wheels Potty Trainer and Barbie Camper Pop-Up Tent.
- Penguin Ventures, the consumer products and experiences team at Penguin Random House Children’s UK, has tapped WildBrain CPLG to represent The World of Peter Rabbit (pictured) in the US and Canada. WildBrain’s licensing agency will move the book brand into categories including toys, apparel and décor ahead of the anniversaries of both author Beatrix Potter (160th anniversary in 2026) and Peter Rabbit (125th anniversary in 2027).
- Everyone TV has inked a deal to add Milkshake! to its Freely streaming app later this year. Milkshake! will join a lineup of 55-plus channels on Freely, which boasts more than 70,000 hours of content. The free app is available on smart TVs made by Amazon Fire TV, Toshiba and Hisense.
