There’s no doubt that kids & family movies had an excellent run last year—with titles like Inside Out 2, Moana 2, Despicable Me 4, Mufasa: The Lion King and Kung Fu Panda 4 all crossing the US$500-million milestone in ticket sales.
And hopes are high that this trend will continue in summer 2025. Setting the stage is tomorrow’s release of A Minecraft Movie, which is on track for a solid domestic opening weekend of more than US$70 million.
