Lifestyle company Sanrio walked away with four awards for its flagship Hello Kitty & Friends brand at last night’s eighth-annual Bologna Licensing Awards in Italy.

Hello Kitty (pictured) herself won three times—Property of the Year; Best Retail Project (Primark x Hello Kitty); and Best Fashion Project for Teens/Young Adults (péro Hello Kitty capsule collection)—while sister brand My Melody took home the trophy for Best Teen Licensing Project (My Melody x Lazy Oaf apparel collection).

This year’s awards program received more than 250 entries in 14 key categories. Jurors included Toy Store editor Karin Ebnet, Feenix Studio GM Michelle Perez Barruos, Max Publishing CEO Ian Hyder, Products of Change founder Helena Mansell-Stopher and IP management strategist Marina Narishkin.

The hottest category was Best Kids Licensing Project—this year’s only award with five shortlisted nominees. Scopely/Diramix’s Stumble Guys MonsterFlex action figures faced stiff competition from Mattel, WildBrain CPLG, The Pokémon Company International and Toei Animation but came out on top.

In other categories, Miraculous Corp received the first-ever Best Licensed Videogames Project award for its Roblox title Miraculous RP: Quests of Ladybug and Cat Noir, defeating both Barbie Color Creations (Mattel x Story Toys) and Snufkin: Melody of Mominvalley (Rights & Brand x Hyper Games). And Sesame Workshop’s Sesame Street Mecha Builders game took home the trophy for Best Preschool Licensing Project, beating out Acamar’s Bing for Faba and Paramount’s 100 First Words with PAW Patrol book.
