OuiDo Productions acquires Technicolor’s domestic episodic production operations

The deal also includes Mikros Animation's TV activities in France.

OuiDo Productions, the French studio that co-produces Alvinnn!!! & the Chipmunks, is acquiring Technicolor Animation Productions’ TV IPs and Mikros Animation’s TV and IP businesses in France.

OuiDO has carved out a piece of Technicolor and Mikros for itself, while Montreal’s RodeoFX announced just yesterday that it has acquired other chunks of Technicolor, including Mikros Animation’s service work capabilities in Canada and France. The Mikros Bangalore operations are not included in the deal.

The French bankruptcy court has approved the OuiDo acquisition of all of Mikros Animation’s episodic, IP and executive production operations in France, including the series Magicampers for The Walt Disney Company EMEA and Team DroniX for France Télévisions.

OuiDo Productions president Boris Hertzog co-founded Technicolor Animation Productions more than 15 years ago. He left Technicolor three years ago, and this acquisition marks “a return to [my] roots,” he said in a statement

“The context may be challenging, but our ambition remains the same—to create, to innovate, to dream and to realize meaningful projects with all the energy that drives us,” said Hertzog.

OuiDo plans to combine the newly acquired TV animation business with Moon-Keys (the distribution company that Hertzog launched in December 2023) and a new publishing-focused subsidiary, according to the statement.

Some of OuiDo’s productions include SEGA co-production Sonic Boom for Gulli/Canal J and Cartoon Network (US); Mini Wolf season two for France Télévisions; and The Legendaries (pictured) for TF1 and Canal J.
