Kids industry eyes were on the third-annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards this weekend, celebrating another year of standout kids programming across animation and live action.

The annual gala was held at LA’s Television City on Saturday, with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck voice actor Eric Bauza hosting the main show in the afternoon, followed by the Creative Arts ceremony in the evening.

Disney+ live-action series Percy Jackson and the Olympians (pictured) chalked up the most wins this year, coming out on top in eight categories, including Outstanding Young Teen Series and Writing for a Young Teen Series (“I Accidentally Vaporized My Pre-Algebra Teacher”). And as testament to Disney’s confidence in this acclaimed book adaptation, it also secured a season-three renewal on Friday—even though its second season isn’t dropping until December 2025.

Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues & You! emerged victorious in the Outstanding Preschool Series category, while Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock (Apple TV+) was named Outstanding Children’s or Family Viewing Series.

Kidscreen readers will be pleased to know that two of their three predictions from last week’s poll were spot on—31.9% were betting on Percy Jackson in the Young Teen Series category, while 46.5% picked Fraggle Rock to win Outstanding Children’s or Family Viewing Series.

More of you (44.1%) expected Sesame Street to take home the Preschool Series prize than winning nominee Blue’s Clues & You! (27.9%). But Sesame Workshop’s flagship show did triumph in several other categories, including Outstanding Writing for a Preschool or Children’s Series (“Can They Be Friends?”) and Outstanding Directing for a Multiple Camera Live Action Series (“The Sign Language ABCs”).

Beyond Percy Jackson, Disney made a splash with other titles in its library, scoring four wins with nature series A Real Bug’s Life (Nat Geo/Disney+) and three with Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (Disney+). Overall, the Mouse House walked away with 25 trophies this year—18 of which were earned by its Disney Branded Television unit.

DreamWorks Animation/Netflix’s Orion and the Dark was also a top performer, winning twice and beating out heavyweight IPs like Peanuts and Tiny Chef in the Outstanding Animated Special category.
