- Benjamin Bao (pictured) has been upped from VP of Greater China at WildBrain CPLG to GM of WildBrain China, a remit expansion that will see him drive business opportunities in the region to grow top brands like Peanuts and Teletubbies through content creation, audience engagement and global licensing. Bao will also continue his work to commercialize WildBrain’s proprietary and partner brands in China. Based in Shanghai, he still reports to Ben Peace (SVP of commercial for APAC, MENA and India at WildBrain CPLG), and will also closely collaborate with Maarten Weck (EVP of global partnerships and licensing) and Evi Sari (VP of LBE).
- Ireland’s Lighthouse Studios (El Deafo) has recruited executive producer Ed Moline to take charge of content strategy and help expand its animation slate, focusing on original projects, adaptations and partnerships. Moline previously spent three years at Banijay Kids & Family, most recently in a creative producer of animation role. One of the first projects he’ll steer at Lighthouse is Showbiz School, a 2D-animated comedy series for the five to seven set.
