- As the 119th Toy Fair wraps up today in New York, the Toy Association has announced that it has elected four new members to its board of directors—Toy giant Mattel’s SVP and GM of USA commercial Mark McColgan; Jason Larian, president of MGA Entertainment’s production division MGA Studios; Erica Buxton, CEO of scooter/bicycle manufacturer Razor USA; and Melvin Wells, CEO of South Carolina-based toyco Sunny Days Entertainment.
- Walt Disney Studios has recruited Andrew Cripps (pictured) to succeed Tony Chambers (who recently stepped into a new role as EMEA president) as head of theatrical distribution. He will be responsible for distributing films from Pixar, Marvel Studios, Disney Animation, Lucasfilm and other banners worldwide. Cripps left Warner Bros. Studios in January after five years serving as president of international distribution and managing the overseas releases of hit features including Barbie and Wonka. And he previously held similar roles at 20th Century Fox (2017 to 2019) and Paramount (2007 to 2011).
