Spanning multiple years and superhero IPs, Mattel has inked a global licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to create products based on the entire DC library, which encompasses iconic characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Joker.

Mattel will develop and market a range of action figures, playsets, accessories and role-play items that will start rolling out in the second half of 2026.

This broad deal expands on an existing licensing partnership between the two companies, under which Mattel has the rights to more than 30 WBD brands, including Harry Potter and Friends. Mattel is getting on the DC train at a time when the brand is poised for growth, and when WBD is looking to build appeal for this universe with kids and families. A new Superman film, three animated series and four short films starring Superman’s dog Krypto are on the way, and all of this content is accessible to Mattel for product development as part of its new deal.
