- Hasbro is extending its licensing collaboration with Mattel by producing a new range of Barbie-branded Play-Doh sets. The six new SKUs—which let kids make new outfits for their Barbie dolls from the reusable compound provided—will roll out first at Target and Amazon in June before expanding to other retailers worldwide in August.
- Kids Preferred is expanding its portfolio with the addition of a Peppa Pig license from Hasbro. The New Jersey-based toyco will leverage the iconic preschool character into several new products, including wooden toys, soothers, rattles, teethers, bath toys and blankies, which will have their first showing at New York Toy Fair in March.
- Big Picture Licensing is developing a new consumer products program for DeAPlaneta Entertainment’s 2D-animated preschool series Milo (52 x 11 minutes) in the UK and Ireland. The announcement comes on the heels of DeAPlaneta confirming the IP’s third season, which begins development later this quarter.
- Animotion Media has tapped BBM Licensing to represent its tentpole kids franchise The Fixies in the MENA region. In the short term, BBM will focus on expanding the IP into toys, apparel and retail loyalty programs, and will run supplemental marketing campaigns to build awareness for the brand in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Qatar and Lebanon.
