The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has announced the seven artists who will be honored for individual achievement in animation as part of the third annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards.

While the LA ceremony is still a month away (March 15), the honorees for this special category have been announced early, with winners chosen by a jury of experts for their work in background design, character animation, character design, color, production design and storyboard.

Animation talent from Prime Video’s 2D-animated movie Merry Little Batman (pictured) had a particularly strong showing, with three wins for background designer Philip Vose, animation supervisor Elena Najar and art director Guillaume Fesquet. Netflix’s Orion and the Dark also fared well, with visual development artist Miho Tomimasu and digimatte artist Lauren Zurcher recognized for their work on the fantasy pic.
