Lion Forge teams up with Resurrection Games on an Iyanu game range

The collab will yield board games and card games based on the upcoming fantasy series.

Collectible tabletop gaming brand Resurrection Games has signed a deal with Los Angeles-headquartered Lion Forge Entertainment to create games based on the Nigerian culture-inspired toon Iyanu (pictured).

Set to deliver in Q4 2025, Resurrection will launch card and board games for kids and families targeting the four-to-nine set, including a memory tile game called Iyanu: Crossroads in which players can compete to collect seven tokens and artifacts. For the six-plus demo, a card game called Iyanu: Mark of the Chosen will feature a Yoruba deck that grants players powers and victory points in three rounds. And a family board game called Yorubaland: Wild Terrain sees one team pursuing the other across a landscape.

This collab aims to give audiences an immersive and interactive way to engage with the themes and mythology of the Iyanu series, which is slated to be released on Cartoon Network, Max and Showmax this spring. The comic-book adaptation follows a teen girl with newly discovered special powers who must fight an evil force in her homeland.

In addition to Iyanu, Resurrection’s licensed games also include a Saturday Wars collectible card game based on the Saturday AM comic brand.

Iyanu has been attracting a lot of interest in the consumer products biz. Last year, Florida-based Kidazzle won the master toy license for the series, while Atlanta’s Brown Toy Box inked a deal in the fall to launch a range of Iyanu STEAM play kits.
