- Studio 100 Film has locked down sales for a pair of upcoming CG-animated features. Miss Moxy (pictured) has sold to multiple territories, including the UK/Ireland (Dazzler), Bulgaria (Profilms), Hungary and Romania (ADS-Services) and Portugal (Outsider Film). Meanwhile, Norsk Filmdistribusjon will take North to Scandinavian theaters in November, following sales to markets including Italy (Adler), Yugoslavia (Blitz), Portugal (Films4You) and the Baltics (GPI).
- Toonz Media Group and Gummybear International are co-producing a CG-animated film called Gummibär and Friends: Operation Cotton Candy (90 minutes) based on Gummibär—a virtual musician IP featuring a eurodance-loving gummy bear known for the viral hit, “The Gummy Bear Song,” which has racked up more than three billion YouTube views to date. In the film, the character signs up to test new cotton candy flavors, only to realize that he’s actually joined a spy mission.
- Wyncor is rolling out its collectible Miraball toy line at Walmart in March, including a blind-pack ball with an expandable plushy charm inside. Wyncor estimates that it has sold 2.5 million Miraballs to date, with licensing deals nailed down for top kids brands such as SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Peppa Pig and My Little Pony.
- Global Screen has pre-sold Germany-based Telescope Animation’s upcoming CG-animated pic The Last Whale Singer to multiple territories, including France (KMBO), Australia (Icon Film Distribution), Portugal (PRIS Audiovisuais), Greece (Rosebud21) and Germany (Little Dreams). This eco-themed film about an orphaned teenage humpback whale is planned for a 2026 worldwide release.
- Paramount Consumer Products has inked a wide-ranging deal with Heathside Trading to develop new Star Trek toys. Set for release as part of the Master Replicas brand, this range will include action figures, playsets, replica phasers, communicators and tricorders, plus other collectibles based on the classic franchise’s many titles, including the upcoming series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
- LyricFind Kids has partnered with The Wiggles’ co-founder (and original Red Wiggle) Murray Cook for a new song called “Swimming Down Below,” slated for a March 5 release. Friendly Bounce Productions is attached to produce an animated video for the song, which will drop on the LyricFind Kids YouTube channel.
