- Montreal/Madrid-based Pink Parrot Media has picked up worldwide rights for Graduation Heist— a live-action teen comedy from Poland’s Laniakea Pictures that follows a high schooler’s plan to change exam results through hacking—along with Ultraduck, a CG-animated graphic novel adaptation from Canada’s Arcana Studio about a duck who juggles workplace problems and newfound superpowers. Both projects are bound for this week’s European Film Market (February 13 to 19) in Berlin. Ultraduck will be delivered in Q4 2025, while Heist hits theaters in Poland on February 28.
- The Baker Street Four (12 x 26 minutes) has kicked off production, with Germany’s ARD joining the project as a co-producer and broadcaster, and Folivari International on board as distributor. Originally commissioned by Canal+ (France), this 2D/CG-animated tween series is a co-pro from Parisian studios Folivari and Blue Spirit. The show follows three kids and a cat as they cross paths with detective Sherlock Holmes.
- LA-based PhatMojo is prepping a range of toys based on Dress to Impress (pictured), a popular Roblox game where players must quickly curate the perfect runway-ready look based on a given theme. This new line will include fashion dolls, “Mystery Models” collectibles and a runway playset. The toys will also feature special codes that can be redeemed for exclusive digital items within the game, which has generated nearly six billion visits to date.
- Irish tech startup HoloToyz has teamed up with Mattel to create augmented-reality products based on the toy giant’s Barbie and Hot Wheels brands. The Barbie range will include an AR fashion dress-up toy set, complete with magnetic outfits and a dedicated app to bring the dressed-up doll to life. Meanwhile, HoloToyz’ Hot Wheels collection will include puzzles, magnetic cubes, tattoos and stickers.
