Paramount Pictures has teamed up with Atlanta-based investment firm Domain Capital Group to co-finance a minimum of 30 films—automatically expanding to 40 films under certain circumstances. The companies haven’t shared specifics on what percentage of financing Domain Capital will provide on each project, but the films covered under the deal span multiple genres and budget levels.

In terms of kids content, Domain Capital has already co-financed Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (pictured) from Paramount Pictures, which was released over the holiday season. Based on the Sonic video game brand, this film has already generated US$472 million in worldwide ticket sales against a US$122-million budget.

An upcoming Paramount project that’s also covered under this 30-picture deal is Smurfs, a live-action/CG-animated film adaptation of the classic comic book IP created by Belgian writer Peyo that is slated for a July 18 release.

“The team at Paramount is dedicated to producing quality content that we hope will continue to build on the value of Domain’s film library for our investors,” Domain Capital MD Pete Chiappetta said in a release.

The agreement with Paramount aligns with Domain’s ongoing strategy to lock down more long-term partnerships. Previously, the firm entered a similar multi-year co-financing pact with WB Motion Picture Group in 2023 that resulted in the box office hit Barbie, along with other features including Wonka and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
