- Grace Loughrey has joined BBC Children’s and Education as an assistant commissioner for animation targeting kids ages zero to 12. A former production coordinator at Sixteen South (Odo), Belfast-based Loughrey is coming off a four-year producer stint at service studio TAUNT (Mimi’s World). Her appointment is the latest in a Beeb team refresh that has also seen Guy Phenix and Jo Allen come aboard last month.
- Llion Iwan (pictured right) will return to Welsh pubcaster S4C as chief content officer in March. For the past four years, he has served as MD at Cwmni Da, the indie studio behind regional kids series like Deian a Loli (98 x 15 minutes) and Misho (12 x 10 minutes). But Iwan previously worked at S4C for six years, starting out as a commissioner for factual content in 2012 before being promoted to head of content distribution in 2016.
- Canada’s Brain Power Studio has promoted Nancy Yeaman into a newly created COO role. Yeaman has been with the studio for more than 12 years, most recently serving as EVP of kids and original content since 2019. Brain Power is behind family-friendly, live-action TV films like Olympians at Heart (2021), Dance Together (2019) and A Witches’ Ball (2017).
- London-based kids research agency Beano Brain has hired Audrey Birner (pictured left) as its US insights director. She will help the company ramp up its stateside business by tapping into experience working at youth-skewing research companies like YPulse (senior strategist) and The Pineapple Lounge (director). She has also previously worked with major clients including The LEGO Group, Nike, Google and Spotify.
