Warner Bros. Discovery brings Talking Tom Heroes: Suddenly Super to Italy and Southeast Asia, and WEBTOON will adapt Dimension 20’s D&D campaign Fantasy High.

  • Warner Bros. Discovery has picked up broadcast rights to Outfit7’s CG-animated preschool series Talking Tom Heroes: Suddenly Super for Italy, China, South Korea and Southeast Asia in a deal brokered by global distributor CAKE. The 52-ep show will air later this year on Cartoonito’s regional channels in these markets, as well as on Boing and Boomerang in Italy. 

 

  • WEBTOON is partnering with comedy streaming platform Dropout to develop a new web comic adaptation of the Dimension 20 Dungeons & Dragons campaign Fantasy High. Dimension 20 debuted in 2018, bringing together pro gamers and comedians to play the Fantasy High table-top game, in which a group of ragtag teens goes on a quest to solve the mystery of why students are disappearing. WEBTOON will launch its first chapter this spring, starring the campaign’s original game characters. 

 

  • Showdog Studio has optioned Christopher DeWan’s teen sci-fi screenplay Wunderland and has a pilot episode in development. It follows a smalltown teenage hacker named Cora Carter, who discovers new clues about her mother’s real-life disappearance in a popular VR game called Wunderland
