TFI’s preschool block TFOU has teamed up with French studio Superprod to help develop a new CG-animated series project called Vet Academy.
Crafted for a bridge audience, this 52 x 11-minute concept focuses on five young vets-in-training who go on missions to save animals in distress. Some of the VTeam’s patients include a puma caught in a trap, a baby whale exposed to toxins and a panda who’s been captured by a crazy scientist.
French director Charles Vaucelle (Pat the Dog, Oggy and the Cockroaches) and writer Matthieu Choquet (Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir) are the creators behind Vet Academy, which Superprod will produce at at its studios in Paris, Angoulême and Milan. And distribution arm Superights will handle international sales.
Yann Labasque, head of youth programming at TF1, says he was drawn to the show’s mix of adventure and heartwarming stories, as well as to the way it highlights the bond between kids and animals.
