- Spain’s RTVE has acquired season one of CG-animated Team Nuggets (pictured) to air on Clan this spring. Serious Kids brokered the deal for this 52 x seven-minute series, which was co-produced by Denmark’s Sparre Production and France’s Godo Films for commissioning broadcaster DR TV. Team Nuggets premiered in 2023 and is aimed at five- to eight-year-olds. It’s a fast-paced comedy about a young chicken and her excitable classmates, whose time at school often turns into chaos until they learn some lessons about friendship and self-control. Sparre and Godo are currently in pre-production on a second season.
- Wind Sun Sky Entertainment has inked a new deal with YouTube that will see its tentpole franchise Future Chicken featured on the YouTube Kids app, starting tomorrow. The Vancouver-based company has produced a collection of Chicken In shorts about environmental positivity and a longer-form series called The Future Chicken Today Show, which boasts interviews with real-life celebs, scientists and kids about protecting the planet.
- WildBrain CPLG has expanded its licensing partnership with Spin Master and will now represent the toyco’s Unicorn Academy and Rubik’s brands in the UK and Ireland. The agency has already secured several licensees for Unicorn Academy throughout Europe that will launch new products this year, including Vadobag (bags & accessories), Canenco (health & beauty), Panini (publishing & collectibles) and Egmont (books & magazines).
- MVP Kids is working with Toonz Media Group and BLKBX Originals to develop a new CG-animated series and Roblox game based on its namesake line of educational children’s books. Toonz will spearhead a 52-episode series inspired by literary characters Leo, Gabby, Lucas and Keon, while BLKBX takes the lead on the Roblox experience. Both brand extensions will be showcased at MIPCOM in October.
