- The LEGO Group is developing a licensed building set featuring Nintendo’s popular Game Boy console, which sold more than 118 million units between 1989 and 2003 to become one of the best-selling game systems of all time. Slated to hit retail in October, LEGO’s kit will let consumers recreate the vintage device in brick form
- Australian kids music group The Wiggles (pictured) has collaborated with major recording artists including Dolly Parton, Dasha, Lainey Wilson and Orville Peck for a new country album called Wiggle Up, Giddy Up that’s due out on March 7. A video for the same-name debut single dropped on the band’s YouTube channel yesterday.
- Aardman is working with game developers FuturLab and Square Enix to bring Wallace & Gromit into their multiplayer title PowerWash Simulator. For the uninitiated, players of the game run powerwashing businesses, and this branded content addition will give them the opportunity to hose down the Aardman characters’ home when it rolls out later this year. Since its 2021 launch, PowerWash Simulator has similarly featured other kids brands including SpongeBob SquarePants, Shrek and Back to the Future. The game has sold more than 1.5 million units on PCs alone, according to VG Insights.
