- Acamar Films has tapped British toyco Rainbow Designs to serve as the master toy licensee for its tentpole preschool franchise Bing, manufacturing and distributing a new range of early childhood development toys to retailers worldwide in the fall. Rainbow also has Paddington Bear, Peter Rabbit, Maisy and several Disney brands in its licensing portfolio.
- Nickelodeon has acquired broadcast rights in the UK and Ireland to live-action kids drama series Planet Lulin (10 x 22 minutes) from international sales agent ABC Commercial. The series debuts next week on Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk Plus TV in the UK, as well as on Virgin Media Ireland, Eir TV and Sky Ireland. Produced by Moody Street Kids and Princess Pictures, Planet Lulin is about a 12-year-old alien attending school undercover as a human who must learn to control her newfound powers as they emerge.
- Aurora World has signed a deal with Hasbro to produce a new range of Peppa Pig plush that will start rolling out to big-box and specialty retailers across North America in June.
