The 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards has unveiled its longlist of nominees—several kids films are dominating the Animated Film and British Short Animation categories, and two seem poised to score nods in the Outstanding British Film race.

Longlisted in the dedicated Children’s & Family Film category are: Flow (pictured), Kensuke’s Kingdom, Piece By Piece, Spellbound, That Christmas, Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, The Wild Robot and Young Woman and the Sea.

And up for consideration in the Animated Film category are: Despicable Me 4, Flow, Inside Out 2, Memoir of a Snail, Moana 2, That Christmas, Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and The Wild Robot.

Six titles are on the British Short Animation longlist: Adiós, Mee and Burd, Mog’s Christmas, Plunge, Three Hares and Wander to Wonder

And recognized more broadly, Paddington in Peru (StudioCanal and Columbia Pictures) and Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (Aardman Animations) both made the first cut for Outstanding British Film.

A second round of voting to determine the shortlist is taking place this week, and BAFTA will announce this year’s final nominations on January 15 and name the winners on February 16.

A total of 235 films were submitted for consideration this year. The complete longlist is available online
