- Universal Products & Experiences has hired Jay Visconti as SVP of consumer products for EMEA. With a 20-year licensing run at Disney under his belt, Visconti is tasked with expanding the presence of Universal’s brands in all categories. He joined last month and reports to Rafael Macias, EVP and global commercial officer.
- ABC Australia has recruited Hugh Marks (pictured) to serve as its new managing director and editor-in-chief for a five-year term. Starting on March 10, Marks will be charged with overseeing the pubcaster’s editorial and creative teams working across all programming genres. He joins from Dreamchaser, an Aussie studio he co-founded roughly three years ago. And before that, Marks was the CEO of Nine Entertainment, which he grew into a billion-dollar business.
- Antenna Group has hired former RTL Group chief content officer Henning Tewes to succeed Linda Jensen as CEO. Tewes will take control of the Amsterdam-based broadcaster on January 1, directing all parts of its global business. Antenna owns and operates 32 channels across Europe, North America and Australia, reaching more than 140 million people. It also runs a streaming platform called ANT1+, a chain of theaters and a live events business.
- The Toy Association subsidiary People of Play has tapped Moose Toys’ inventor relations manager Shannon Swindle to join its board of directors. She will work with founder Mary Couzin to expand the reach of POP’s events by developing deeper community connections and discovering innovative products and creators. Swindle’s achievements at Moose include licensing 18 new games in the last two years, including Pickleball Blast.
