Trade org American Cinema Editors has announced the nominations for its 75th annual Eddie Awards, recognizing the year’s best work in film and TV editing. And five Disney projects were shortlisted in the animation categories. 

Considered as a barometer for the Best Picture and Best Editing Oscar categories, the Eddies will announce its winners on January 18 in LA. 

The nominees for Best Edited Animated Feature Film are Pixar’s Inside Out 2, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana 2 (pictured), Aardman Animations’ Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, DreamWorks Animation’s The Wild Robot and Flow from Dream Well Studio, Sacrableu Productions and Take Five. 

Disney totally dominated the Best Edited Animated Series category, with X-Men ’97 (for the episode “Remember It”) and Fox shows The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers making up the entire shortlist. 

American Cinema Editors is also awarding Wicked director John Chu with its ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award, recognizing distinguished achievement in the art and business of film.
