The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) published a new survey yesterday revealing that 76% of kids in the US plan to ask their parents or caregivers for new video game stuff this holiday season.

ESA surveyed 501 kids and 505 adults across the country between September and October to determine what gifts were topping this year’s wishlists, and money/gift cards (67%), clothes/accessories (66%) and other electronics (62%) are all trailing behind gaming gear.

Breaking things down more finely, 47% of kids want new video game consoles, followed by subscription services (43%), console games (41%), gaming gear (41%) and in-game currency for popular platforms such as Roblox and Fortnite (38%).

The survey also revealed that adults plan to spend an average of US$312 on purchasing gaming-related gifts this season for themselves and other people. In May, the ESA reported that gaming can be a great bonding experience for family members, with the organization finding that 83% of US parents play games with their kids, and 51% do so at least once a week.
